Today is the day! I’ve been dreaming of becoming a picture book illustrator since I was a little kid, and my first picture book is officially out into the world. Pick up Not So Scary Jerry by Shelley Kinder, illustrated by me, at Clear Fork Publishing, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or ask your local bookstore and library to carry it. I can’t wait for everyone to get to know Jerry, his boy, and pug!

It’s mouse’s birthday apparently.

Whew! August finished up fast. It was definitely not a good month this year. Overload of work. Massive house projects that refuse to be finished. Lots of late nights and more tired days. But, that is all behind us now! Good riddance August. September has finally come! I refuse to let this month go by without full-fledged enjoyment and celebrations. I will savor this month in the oncoming of fall, my glorious upcoming birthday (yay!), pumpkin spice lattes, the start of needing sweaters, purchasing discounted school supplies and much more with great abandon. Today I wear a new dress which I have been saving for a month to wear on this day. I’m working to my You’ve Got Mail soundtrack which always helps me usher in the new season and month. And tonight is the much-anticipated She & Him concert in Nashville! I’m so excited I was late for work this morning trying to get myself together. Hooray for September 1!

Monday marked 3 months until my birthday. The dreaming has begun. Among my many thoughts is the desire to visit a photobooth. I’m becoming increasingly more obsessed with photobooths and having never experienced the joy of one in person, I feel that my 26th is a great time to do so. (and mark it off the list too!) I’m fairly positive this obsession increased because of one of my new favorite movie, Amelie and thanks to people like hulaseventy and her photobooth Fridays. So, perhaps a photobooth experience will be a festivity for my birthday and maybe I’ll even ask for this book with this great cover:

I can’t help but wish that I had discovered these gems earlier in marriage. A photobooth image every anniversary would be such a great idea. Not too late to start right?
